RSUD Blora Reveals Decreasing Trend of Dengue Fever Cases, Current Situation Starting to be Controlled

MEMANGGIL.CO – The annual rainy season brings a number of diseases that affect the community, including those in Blora Regency.

Director of RSUD dr. R. Soetijijono Blora, Puji Basektor, revealed that one of the diseases that often occurs during the rainy season is vector-borne diseases, particularly those caused by the Aedes aegypti mosquito. These diseases can cause dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF), which is a serious health problem.

“In addition to DHF, skin diseases such as ISPA (Acute Respiratory Infection) are also commonly found,” he said, as written on Tuesday (February 18, 2025).”

“Dengue fever itself is quite worrying. We experienced a significant surge in patients, and our treatment room, which has a capacity of 34 beds, was fully occupied, forcing us to add more beds,” he added.

RSUD dr. R. Soetijijono Blora recorded 757 cases of dengue fever between January and October 2024. Although the number of diagnosed patients was high, Puji Basuki noted that the trend of dengue fever cases is now starting to decline.

“Thank God, the trend of dengue fever cases is starting to decline. Our treatment room is now under control, and there is no more accumulation of patients,” he said.

Nevertheless, he continued to urge the community to remain vigilant against the potential spread of diseases carried by mosquitoes, especially during the rainy season.

Additional information, mosquitoes that cause dengue fever are usually active and bite in the morning and evening.

These mosquitoes typically live in calm water with a clean bottom, such as puddles in car tires, plastic waste, or animal drinking troughs.
