MEMANGGIL.CO - The Blora Regency Education Department (Disdik) is committed to reducing the number of Out-of-School Children (OSC) in its region.
To achieve this goal, Sunaryo, Head of the Blora Regency Education Department, urged supervisors, school principals, and teachers to take a more active role in addressing OSC cases.
"I request that all parties become more proactive in identifying OSC by utilizing data from the Out-of-School Children Information System (SILAT). This web-based application serves to verify, intervene, monitor, and evaluate OSC," he stated on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
"Next, we will encourage the Out-of-School Children (OSC) to return to school. We will also collaborate with the Community Learning Activity Center (PKBM) to implement the Accelerated Learning Program for Packages A, B, and C," he added.
Previously, it was reported that the Blora Education Department (Disdik Blora) had successfully returned 4,000 Out-of-School Children (OSC) to formal schools. Additionally, around 1,000 other OSC were able to return to non-formal schools through the Package B and C equality programs.
According to Nuril Huda, Secretary of Disdik Blora, the number of OSC in Blora once reached 6,480.
"The remaining 1,400 OSC living outside the city are still being encouraged to return to school, whether formal or non-formal/equivalent. We are also considering alternative distance learning options," he explained.

Nuril Huda revealed that, based on a survey conducted, there are several reasons for the high number of OSC in Blora.
These factors include economic reasons, limited access to schools, and geographical conditions experienced by residents living on the outskirts of forests.
Moreover, some OSC work to support their parents, lack motivation to learn, or are influenced by their environment.
"Furthermore, there are still parents who do not adequately prioritize their children's education," Nuril Huda emphasized.
